Delivery cost with health insurance? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi! With all the additional costs of our IVF treatments (IVF was not covered by insurance) I’m trying to figure out about how much it will cost for delivery and hospital stay.  In network my deductible is $1,000 & $3,000 is my out of pocket max.   Out of network my deductible is $2,000 and my out of pocket max is $7,000. The whole insurance thing confuses me.

You’ll end up meeting your 3k out of pocket maximum, that will be the cost of you use an in network hospital. If you use one your insurance does not contract with it will be 7k.

You will pay for almost everything until you reach your deductible. Then after that you will pay co-insurance (a percentage of the total) until you reach your out of pocket max. I reached my $3k out of pocket max, but it will depend on your hospital and doctor. I’d recommend making sure your hospital and doctor are in-network, and changing providers if they aren’t. 
You might also want to budget for medical expenses for baby. Depending on your plan, your baby may be subject to a separate deductible and out of pocket max. Even with a healthy birth, there will be some medical care for baby.

My insurance estimates a birth as an example cost. In my case the only thing that goes above the deductible are copays for specialists. So it estimates I'll only pay $150 above my yearly deductible. 
Check out what your coinsurance is for birth (mine is 0%) that might increase your cost. Otherwise out of pocket refers to copays on visits and prescriptions.
