Study of January 5, 2019

We live in a society of people that have a misguided understanding of God, and of Jesus Christ. They misuse and misinterpret the meaning of repentance, forgiveness and salvation. For some reason, sinners and even born again Christian either believe or have at one point believed that they can sin and say they're sorry and continue to sin (I've been guilty of this wayward thinking myself). What people fail to realize is that is so far from the truth. Repentance means to turn from. So when we say we repent. What we are saying is that we've decided to turn away from and do that sin never again. And to turn back to it is backsliding and crucifying Christ again. It will be counted against. So I want to encourage you all to check your heart and correct any and all errors.

Scripture: Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and death it not, to him it is sin.
