Semen analysis costs $250?!

We’ve been ttc for 11 months and I just feel like this isn’t our month.. I asked my husband to make an apt for a semen analysis (I figured he would go after my period comes, because at this point I expect it). I was already checked and everything came back normal . We have insurance but for him it’s going to cost $250 since it’s less than our deductible but for my tests with the same insurance I just paid a copay.. is this normal for anyone else who’s husbands been checked?

My gynecologist gave us a referral to a fertility clinic. Insurance didn’t cover anything and it cost us $120.

What kinda insurance do you have ? I mean I can’t really say nothing because I don’t know your insurance policy and you have to talk to an agent. But what i know my SO had semen analysis and he has Blue Cross Blue Shied he only had to pay 50$ co-pay.  I have 3 different insurances from him and it’s paying all my stuff. I’m sorry I can’t really help you.

My husband just paid a co-pay. Everything came back normal and I was already pregnant when he went, but didn’t know.

My boyfriend has Kaiser but since there was a referral from my fertility Dr. he only paid $78.  They actually offered a “cash” price which was $100 lower than a debit credit card.

Each insurance covers different things.  As thing that my husband and I go in for that would be considered fertility assistance will not be covered.
