Ears pierced on two month olds?

Hey y’all, I was just wondering what is everyone’s opinion on getting their little girls ears pierced. Here in Kentucky we can pierce their ears at 2 months if they have had their shots. I’ve been debating on doing it.

I feel like it should be their choice. I don’t feel right about putting unnecessary holes in my baby for my own aesthetic interests. 
But if you are going to do it - do Not go to a mall or Claire’s or something like that. You’ve got to go to a professional piercing shop. It’s safer and more sanitary that way.

I personally won’t be piercing my child’s ears until they ask. I would only take my child to a reputable piercer as well, no Claire’s or anything like that.

My mom had my ears pierced around 2 months I’m 27 now and I’ve never had any issues. She waited to get my younger sisters ears pierced when they were 1 and 3 and they’ve had so many issues because they messed with them and such. They have had to get them pierced again too. I believe the healing process is much better/ smoother when they younger.

I would never. My mother waited until I was 7 to ask me if I wanted them pierced. I'm glad she waited for my permission. Anyway they're babies, their ears are going to grow. When they get bigger the holes can be uneven and not how they were when it was done. Also, go to a professional you don't want a piercing gun used. Most professionals won't peirce a childs ears until they are able to give permission. They could grow up hating their piercing. It's their body their choice.

I’m letting mine decide when and What piercings. I used to be a professional piercer, I have tattoo artist friends, and I can’t wait for my daughter to want her ears or nose or cartilage or eyebrow pierced. It’s totally up to her though!

I’m getting my little girls ears pierced next month when she’s 3 months only because the store that does it recommends that they’re 3 months if it wasn’t for that then I would’ve gotten them done this month.
