Advice?

Has anyone ever been in a position where you want to be with someone and they tell you they're not ready for a relationship? If so, did you move on? Did you keep trying? I'm in a situation like this and it's hard to wait and even harder to let go

So I have an interesting take on this..
I was once in this situation as the person who wasn’t ready for a relationship. The guy, my friend, desperately wanted to be with me.. we were in a sort of, flirty, make-out all the time, but never do anything more.. kind of friendship. And he wanted more. But I told him I wasn’t ready..
So he stuck around as my friend. He hurried his feelings and stopped making out with me so much and just... loved me as a friend. And he’s still very special to me. And I’m very thankful i had him to help me through that rough time.
But we never dated. And sometimes that’s just what you have to do. Move on, but remain a friend. This person needs you as a friend. So be there and love them as a friend. But know it may never go anywhere. It might. You never know.

I have a bunch of times. And I moved on to the next person. If its meant to be we will find ourselves back together. But if its not you will find someone you are meant to be with. Ive had plenty of guys tell me they werent ready but they wanted to mess around and that just wasnt what I was looking for. And every time I got in a relationship they would come to me and say they were ready. I dont play that game. Ive had 2 guys do that to me in my current relationship and I told them they lost their chance. I found my soul mate and I will not do anything to jeopardize it.

If you really like this person than I would wait for some time. If after say a year or so if he isn’t ready than move on. You deserve to be happy.

Yup. 5 years ago with my now fiancé. He kept saying he wasn’t able to call me his girlfriend but he wanted to be exclusive and essentially be in a relationship...just wasn’t ready for the label. He’d just gotten out of an extremely toxic 2 year relationship like a month before we met. It took about 6 months of dating but not being “official” before he called me girlfriend.
