The hospital I work at is all free parking.. 🤔

Why? Cause I have a health problem that needs to be seen to, or I have to visit family after a touch and go procedure, or see someone I love on their death bed? Also let’s talk about how elitist it is to have to PAY to park your damn car at a hospital. This really disadvantages the poorest in society

Think about the location of the hospitals where you have to pay for parking. Are they downtown in a busy, metropolitan area? Is parking around the hospital scarce and at a premium? If they had free parking lots, the lots would be full of people from outside of the hospital avoiding pay for lots and meters. A lot of hospitals don’t own the land the lots are on either, so they can’t validate, it’s a private company capturing the opportunity. It’s a bit tragic to pay while visiting a potentially sick or dying loved one, but I don’t think it’s corporate greed

I’ve never paid for parking at a hospital. I’ve been to multiple around the US too

I feel so bad for the people who have to pay for hospital parking. The hospitals where I’m from all have free parking & some even have complimentary valet.

Wait. So many people on glow think that health care shouldn’t be “free” aka government funded but so much more of y’all think tho the parking should be free at the health care centers haha, Wtf haha. Priorities. Double, triple the parking cost if you must...just provide universal health care

The hospital I work at it’s $5 to park in any of the parking lots BUT anyone who is seen in the ER/Clinic is given a token (even family/friends) to get out without paying. They do this so people won’t park in the parking lot and take a space a patient may need. When parking lots are free there usually isn’t any spaces because people park there and walk somewhere else because it’s free 🤷🏻♀️
