Nuva ring and periods

So I recently had to remove my mirena due to medical reasons. I got the nuva ring in place dec 24th. You are suppose to wait 7 days for it to take effect but my husband and I had unprotected sex just 2 days after. We came to the conclusion that if it happens it happens. We want another baby but we’re planning to wait a few months but after having unprotected sex we just pretty much said F it why not? I did leave the nuva ring in until Friday the 4th so I had about a week and a half more. Now my question is do you ladies Always immediately start a new period after taking it out for that 4th week? I haven’t had my period and hoping I am pregnant but don’t want to get too excited.
