Is it because I’m short or...??

So this might be a stupid question but I am a first time mom and am kind of clueless... I’m 20 weeks 2 days pregnant and have been feeling the baby move since about 17 weeks. Anyway I’ve been feeling him move higher than what my fundal height should be.. with my fundal I was showing about 19 when I was 18 weeks. And at my 16 week ultrasound the baby was measuring a few days ahead. I haven’t had one since 16 weeks.

I’ve been feeling him where it says 24 weeks. For the past week. But it feels crazy. I had been ignoring it for a few days because I didn’t think I could be feeling him there. Do you think it’s because I’m short or because he could be measuring ahead?

When baby kicks or moves it’s normal for it to be felt in other parts of your body depending on how you are sitting, and how your muscles react.

I’m 5’4 and my uterus was always above where it should’ve been. I could feel it (and so could my husband) at 9 weeks.

My uterus is still below my belly button but measured 22 weeks at my last appointment. The picture is just a guide not a rule.

At my appointment on Tuesday I was 16+6 and she said I was already up to my bellybutton which is the 20 week mark here. I’m also pretty short. It actually made my OB really happy that baby is growing so much because I keep losing weight and needing fluids. My first always measured small and with HG it can be a major concern. I can’t say whether being short changes anything other than running out of room faster but there isn’t much room between my ribs and pelvis so things get squished pretty quickly.

Baby could be kicking high which is causing movement or feeling higher. I don't think you are measuring that far a head. You can try to Google how to measure your own fundal height and it will give you a good idea what you should be looking for. ☺ good luck.
