Is PCOS genetic?

No one in my immediate family has pcos but me. Now that I'm pregnant I'm terrified of passing this curse on to my potential daughter. Is pcos genetic? 🤔

I feel exactly the same 😩 I’d feel so guilty if my little girl has to go through the battle of PCOS too

it’s not usually believed to be genetic unless theres an insulin issue like another poster said but new research said that pcos is caused by an exposure to a certain hormone (forget the name right now) during pregnancy. so if you’re exposed to the hormone while your mother is still pregnant then you might possibly end up with pcos. i can post the link if you want

It can be I believe but don’t quote me on it. Does anyone in your family have insulin resistance and end up with diabetes? I believe that could be a link.

One of my cousin me also has it but my mom doesn’t and none of my aunts do. I don’t think it’s normally passed on.

I’m not overweight, and not diabetic. My doctor said it could be genetics
