WHY are blue dye tests such garbage?!

I had a chemical pregnancy last week and my dr wants me to keep an eye on my hCG in the rare case of a "vanishing twin," which I didn't even know was a thing.

So I have cheapie Internet strips but also grabbed a CVS version of what looked like a FRER (generic), but the dye ended up being blue when I opened the test. Ok, whatever, right?

Well now the results, while obviously negative, are totally not even options on this test. I got a faint HORIZONTAL line immediately, which shouldn't even be showing up; the options are blank or a vertical line. The internet cheapies were very clearly negative. Why are these garbage things still on the market??

I don't even want to be testing right now; I'm still sad about the CP...3 more days til my dr's timeframe is up. Idk why I'm even testing; I know I'm not pregnant, it was a chemical, no vanishing twin or whatever she's talking about; I felt pregnant and now I don't, and I just know nothing else is going on; the ICs confirm that. After 3 days I'm def taking a break from trying for a month or two, & I'm never using a blue dye test again...much less testing before a missed period, as the CP was hard enough already.
