28W1D ..check up midwife or doctor?

I never knew I had the option of having a Mid wife until today's appointment. Now I'm so confused if I should stick with my doctor's I've met or go with the midwife they also have available to me. Thoughts? This is my first baby and now I feel so lost.

Thank you all for your thoughts. I made a appointment with the midwife for more questions. Than I have a meeting with the doctor after. So, I guess I'll choose than. I kinda like the idea of a midwife. But there is only one of her and 5 doctor in rotation. Guess we shall see.

With my practice, I have a choice.. well, had. I started with midwives because they spent more time per appt. I have since graduated/flunked to the dr bc of higher blood pressure. My understanding is if you are high risk, need interventions, csection, etc, you need to see a dr. Once again, at my practice, you don't necessarily have a choice on who will be there at the hospital, midwife or dr. But they have both on, But they cycle through the 15 dr.. and then the 6 midwives.

Doctors have more training and are better equipped to handle emergencies. No question in my mind, doc is best

I’d say you’re already too far along to switch now unless you have issues with your OB. Personally I would have preferred to deliver at a birth center with a midwife but there is none near where I live. BUT then again since it’s my 1st baby too I feel a little more comfortable being with an OB and delivering at a hospital with a NICU just in case things don’t go as planned
