I turned 16 weeks pregnant and had my general appointment and the discussion of my birth can up and who would be there. My husband will be deployed and on the other side of the world but I have family here. His family lives 2 1/2 hours away and we have a VERY strained relationship. They aren’t citizens yet and where I would be giving birth isn’t a very safe area for them to travel. They want me to drop off my son 30 mins away when I’m in labor so they can take care of him which I’ve told my husband won’t fly. I’m going to have my parent stay in my home and watch my son. My dilemma is that I know that the first few weeks are going to be rough and I’m going to be in pain. I also hated when they met my son, my MIL was controlling and weirdly territorial which made it hell. Would it be rude to visit after maybe a month of recovering? I would still be driving with two children (one newborn) on my own at least 30 mins. I already feel stressed out about it.
