How involved are your In-Laws?

Don’t get me wrong I think my in-laws are excited based off their reaction when we told them. But I expected a lot more calls/texts and involvement and haven’t heard a peep since we told them on Christmas. My husband talks to them on the phone all the time so I’m trying to just tell myself they are getting all the information from him. But when I ask him what they talked about, it’s never baby related. Weird?

Mine don’t really ask and I prefer it that way... I share US when we get them. That’s all they really need to know 🤷‍♀️

Do you have a relationship with your in-laws? Do you talk to them on a regular basis and not only when your husband talks to them? My mother in law gets updates from my husband and she also calls every now and then to check on me. If he told her one day I wasn’t feeling well she’ll call a day or two later to find out how I’m doing. I think if there’s a relationship established there’s nothing you have to worry about. I’m sure they’re excited and happy and just waiting to get more information...sometimes they don’t want to over step boundaries. Don’t stress too much about it.

I complain to my MIL about her son all the time. My mom’s dead so she’s kind of all I have. 
Then when she talks to him she tells him to be nice and how the hormones effect me and I’m having a hard time right now. 
He doesn’t really call home unless I tell him to lol and I only tell him because I know what it’s like when you aren’t able to call anymore. 
I don’t think they talk about the baby unless I’ve talked to mom. 
It’s not really a guy thing to talk about. 🤷‍♀️

Do they have grandchildren already? I find I don’t hear from my parents as much as my in laws. My parents have 2 grandkids already and my in-laws have zero.

My father in law and his wife will usually ask once a week or so how I’m doing but besides that they don’t really bring it up. 
My mother in law though is on it lol! She has my ultrasound framed on the wall, has a calendar hung in the kitchen with my important dates and each week milestone marked down and messages me every single day asking how I’m feeling. She wants to go to all the doctors appointments and is so involved. I’m sure I’ll get a message first thing tomorrow morning reminding me I’m 11 weeks tomorrow lol! ♥️

You're pretty early. And they may feel like they're being invasive by asking. I see a lot of women on here complain that family asks about the pregnancy or the husband discloses. Maybe they're respecting your boundaries.

My husband's closest sister talks to him almost every day so I assume his whole family gets updated through her. Other than that she'll check on me, or I will send updates. That is about it though. I think that they are trying to stay mellow until after the 1st trimester.

My mother in law hasn’t called to see how my kids are in about 6 moths. My kids don’t even know who she is because she’d rather hang around her thug boyfriend and never keeps her opinions to herself. My father in law just had a baby a few months ago and is with some chick we don’t even know, they’re always doing there own thing. We really only have relationships with my husbands grandparents and one of his 12 siblings.

Me, too, but I don't think mine is doing it on purpose. My MIL did send me some ginger cookies so that was thoughtful. I think they're just busy and the days are going by slowly for me in comparison so it just feels like they're not contacting much - I don't know. At the moment I'm dealing with morning sickness so I'm glad to not be pestered right now but I was hoping for a little more interaction after we announced. We'll see how they act as time goes by.
