Am I alone?

Am I alone in the fact that I’m not excited about twins...at least not yet. I have no doubt that once they’re here I’ll love them to the moon, but right now all I can think about is how little time there is going to be, and all the extra effort, and not to mention the cost. I also love my job, but my hubby and I did the math-it’s cheaper for me to quit my job than pay childcare. I feel sooo guilty. Please tell me I’m not the only that felt this way. I go through spurts of being super excited and spurts of being really selfish.

Not alone at all. I was terrified when I first found out I was having twins and during my pregnancy I was worried I would struggle to bond with them. As soon as they were born I was instantly in love. I could never imagine one without the other and wouldn’t want it any other way.

I actually cried (not happy tears) when I found out. We joked about how we don’t care if it’s a boy or girl we just want it to be healthy and we want ONE. We have a very active 4 year old, my husband was laid off right when we found out we were expecting, and I struggled a lot with the newborn/infant stage. My husband wanted to have an only child and it took a lot of time/talking to get him on board with a second. We’re still in our starter home and we were hoping to move, but with three in daycare I doubt we can make it happen in 2019. I always said I never wanted multiples, but especially not now. 
I am only 5’1” and was absolutely terrified about how I was going to carry twins. Now I’m 35 weeks and we have really enjoyed the process so far and both of us have a completely different attitude. We are so excited to experience being twin parents, he has been so involved and nothing but happy the whole time...but we are also very aware of the added stress.

21 weeks here and yeah it’s been a roller coaster of emotions for sure. I have an 18 month old wild boy and I just think about how hard it will be with 3 wild boys under two years old.. but trying to focus on being more positive and now that I feel them kicking its a lot more exciting. The beginning was hard.. now I’m falling more in love with the idea.. today.. 😂 but I’ll probably feel sorry for myself again tomorrow. Or in an hour.. 🤷‍♀️

Nope you aren’t alone ! This was so me! I was so worried that I was just not excited about the fact I was having twins ! It wasn’t that I didn’t want them I just thought how difficult it would be having 2 !! And yes it is very hard and a whole lot more expensive than one obviously but omg it is such a rewarding and special experience! It’s ok to feel that way it doesn’t mean anything !

🙋🏾‍♀️ You’re not alone at all. I had a moment of great sadness initially. Working about finances and just wondering if I can do this. I know that I’ll love them very much once they’re here, but the initial shock still hasn’t worn off and I can’t help wishing that circumstances could be better for their arrival.

You’re not alone. While I’m so excited and feel incredibly blessed, I’m worried about my job and childcare as well. I have a high pressure job with very high expectations and while the upside is huge, my entire day is going to have to be scheduled from morning to night with no breaks for a VERY VERY long time. So yes I’m freaking out but will it be worth it? Yes. But it’s going to take a while to get there. I’m sure most of my paycheck will be going to childcare at first.

I am not connecting or feeling excited this time either. I have 3 other kids at home already, and am dreading that first year. My 2 year old is fun, but so very intense, and I keep thinking "what am I going to do when there's 2 of you?" 
I also am not looking forward to delivery. I feel like my doctors are shrugging off how badly I want to avoid a C-section. I know they can't guarantee anything, but I would like to feel like we at least we have the same goal. I feel bad wishing there was only one in there, but I KNOW it would be easier and I can't help comparing.

It’s hard and even after having them ( in two months post partum) I’m still in shock that I have twins. You just adapt.
