Switching to a different OBGYN?

So far, we have met our gynecologist twice. First time was during week 15. She spent no more than 10 minutes with us, spoke as fast as she could to give us some information and then left without so much as excusing herself from the office. Second time was this morning after the anatomy scan. We waited in her office for 25 minutes beyond the appointment time until she finally showed up. Similar to the first time, again spoke as fast as she could. This time, we were given one minute, give or take five seconds. Hubby and I were very happy to know our little boy is doing well, but the “care” we received made us feel very un-cared for. We had questions but there was no time to ask even one. I’m not sure if we are being too needy but at this moment, if interactions continue this way, I’m not sure how confident and comfortable I will feel during the whole process of delivery. My question for you moms is if this “treatment” is just the way it is and we should be more patient? Or should we consider looking for a different doctor?

Definitely get another doctor. You're already uncomfortable and you deserve a doctor who will take the time to speak with you and listen to what you have to say. 
If my doctor was like that I would be very upset. I found another OB at another office because of the behavior of the staff towards me. I liked my OB alot but not the nurses or receptionists. This is an important and scary time in your life and you deserve the best care for you and your baby.

Studies show that women don't say they were unsatisfied with their birth if it was a hard one (like laboring for 3 days or emergency C-section), they say they were unsatisfied if they didn't feel supported by their provider. I'd recommend getting out of that disappointing professional relationship (and tell them why you're leaving), and find someone else so you can give yourself the best chance of having an amazing birth.

I heard this is very common with OBs so I went the midwife route. My appointments are 45 min to an hour long, they take as much time as I need to answer any questions. I feel very well taken care of. Wait times are minimal, too.

Not normal, I’d look for a new doctor. With my first baby I had a doctor fill in during the anatomy scan as my regular was unavailable. He still took time to answer all our questions even though I wasn’t his patient. This time I have a midwife and appointments range from 30-40 minutes. She makes sure I have no further questions before visits end. Doctors generally more rushed than midwives but they should still spend 10-20min each visit with you and answer all questions.

I’m feeling the same way. I’ve met my actual doctor one time and will again in two weeks for our anatomy scan and she was so short and not personable at all. If I still feel this way after the anatomy scan I’m definitely looking elsewhere. This is a huge deal, I will however tell you that delivery is all about the amazing nurses! The doc will come in and catch the baby or intervene if necessary but a majority of your care will be given by the nurses at the hospital.

Nope. I have several doctors as my office and only one gave me this vibe, which I refuse to see her again. The rest went completely over my chart at every visit and always greeted both me and my husband, along with asking us both individually if we had questions or concerns. I have had to wait for 20+ minutes, which I've mentioned in the survey my office emailed out, however it unfortunately seems the norm anymore that doctors are being overloaded with patients without adequate time for each. I'm hoping as complaints come in, they step it up. I do feel my office is over priced, but that has nothing to do with the actual obgyn's.
