breastfeeding and teething

hey everyone! so my LO is officially 4mo today. yesterday his first tooth starting cutting through. i knew it was coming, because my daughter started getting teeth at around 3-4mo, the only difference is that i pumped for her instead of breastfeeding. so my question is what do i do if he bites me? i know lots of moms suggest pulling the babe off, saying ow and then return to nursing after a few minutes. but this trick always seemed to be used on older babies. will that still work with my baby since he is so little still? does anyone have any tips for me?
