Marry your SO for health insurance purposes and asset protection in the event one of you died, without telling your families?

I don’t want a big to do about it and my family would insist on a big thing even if I said no and went to the courthouse alone. They’d also feel hurt that I excluded them. So I’d rather just do it on the downlow before my baby is born.

My boyfriend is totally game for it but I don’t know how I’d handle it if my family somehow found out we married and kept it secret.
