26 and ready (but not ready) for baby

So I’m NOT pregnant but I’m considering trying for a baby in the next 2 years with the guy I’m dating. The only thing is I don’t have a lot of money saved and I wanted to do some more traveling and possibly go to school in the City to secure a good job. These are things I believe I could postpone for a baby.

How much money should I have saved for baby ? Like $10k...? I don’t have a lot of debt. Just $17k on my car to pay off. Am I in the right spot to have a baby or should I wait ??

He does have full insurance as he is active duty

I have partial as I’m in the reserves

I work and go to school
