HPV positive

So got my last smear done and now had a letter for further investigation as I have tested for HPV freaking out as letter says cervical cancer. My periods have been so heavy and horrible pains, thinking this maybe why, but then when I look nothing says any side effects that I have. HELP, please put my mind at ease TIA
