Can you go into labor without your belly dropping?

I’m 39+2 days pregnant and my belly still didn’t drop yet, so I was wondering if I can have contractions or go into labor without it dropping?

My sister went into labor without the baby dropping so it took longer for her to push her out. She was 10cm but the baby wasn’t lower enough to start pushing

I did. Wasn’t effaced or dilated, baby was -4 station & I had no signs of labor. Four days later, she was born. I was only 6cm (5 minutes prior to pushing) & the nurses screamed at me to not push. 😩😓 I guess that explains the massive amount of bleeding I encountered.

Yes. With my son I was 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant I never dropped with him but went into labor on my own. Even my doctor said he didn’t drop yet but he was ready to come 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not really but it might do it without you noticing. When the belly drops, it’s the baby moving into place for birth.

I carried my son pretty high and don't think he ever dropped before I was induced at 40 weeks.
