Should I fight to keep him or left him go?

Question

I've been in a romantic relationship for 8 months.. I think we both give a good amount of effort in the relationship and trying communicate and understand situations etc.. but due to work situation he has to move to another city far away for 2 years and he thinks the idea of a long distance relationship unrealistic..
Should I try to fight for him to stay?
Or just let him go.. (how!!)
And how can I protect my feelings?

If he hasn't asked you to go with him and says long distance is unrealistic, you might want to prepare for the relationship to be coming to an end. Plus, moving together like that automatically makes a relationship more serious and maybe he's not ready. Think of what you want and what you're willing to sacrifice, then have a conversation with him about what he's thinking he wants.

He hasn’t even moved yet and is saying things like “long distant relationships are unrealistic”. He’s literally not even going to give it a try and be optimistic? Sounds as if he’s slowly preparing you for a break up. It’s only been 8 months. In all reality it hasn’t been that long of a relationship. I don’t think it’s worth fighting for when its been such a short amount of time.

In my opinion,,,,, he’s choosing to move away and says ldr is unrealistic... he doesn’t want you to fight for him.
