TTC After miscarriage

I’ve recently had a miscarriage last Monday and we’re so desperate for a baby it took us 10 months to finally get a positive and unfortunately had a miss miscarriage so didn’t find out we had lost it until 12 weeks and they couldn’t find a heartbeat 😔 me and my partner are super sad as we both really want a baby. How long has it taken people to conceive after a miscarriage? The hospital told us that as long as the bleeding had stopped and we do a test 2 weeks after and if it’s negative we can begin to try straight away. We have decided to not try try but not protect either until my cycle goes back to normal. Has anyone fallen without even having their first period??
