Hey y’all - I am 23 weeks along and had my 1hr glucose screen today (my doctor tests a little on the early side). I was about 90% finished drinking the 50g orange drink when I noticed that it had expired on 11-1-18. Today is 1-22-19. So almost 3 months expired. I chose not to say anything in the moment because 1) I’m not too freaked out by 3 months on a refrigerated sugar drink - it tasted 100% normal and 2) Because during my last pregnancy the lab messed up my 1 hr by giving me the 75g instead of 50g drink, failed my 1 hr test, had to go back and do the 3 hour...the whole thing was a mess. So I opted today to just finish my drink, get tested, and see how it goes. If I said something, I knew they would probably stop the test, send me home and have to reschedule. I’m pretty sure 11 weeks isn’t going to change the effectiveness of this drink that much...these types of things typically have long shelf lives. Does anyone know if expiration date affects the sugar content? Would that impact my results?
