Doppler?

Question

Should I buy a Doppler? Paranoid at 9 weeks about losing it and I don’t have my first appointment until Friday. I like my Ob but every time I call the office with questions the nurses are rude and unhelpful and tell me if I’m in severe pain to go to the ER. Not having severe pain, just nervous I’m gonna lose my baby! Ugh. Any recommendations for cheapish dopplers around or under $50?

If you’re already a stress case about things but only 9 weeks along, I would NOT recommend a Doppler. That might make things worse for you. I’ve yet to find my baby’s heartbeat with mine even after hearing it with my midwife at 10 weeks. It’s so hard to find and you’re not supposed to use it longer than 10 minutes at a time

I just got the Sonoline B from babydoppler.com. It’s on sale for $40! I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and tried looking for the heartbeat yesterday but couldn’t find it 😕 hoping it’s just cause it’s still too early!

You’re already so stressed. Dopplers will add even more stress as you aren’t trained to know where to look and if you can’t find the heartbeat you will stress even more.
As hard as it is, just try to relax.

Sonoline B 39 dollars, I'm 9 weeks 5 days and I've been able to pick up the heartbeat since 9 weeks exactly it's a little hard but it gets easier as they grow. I say why not? It helps calms my nerves, if I din5 year anything I know its still because its really early. Good luck!

I am not sure if this is true - but I have not purchased one because it has not been proven that using a Doppler often on a weekly basis does or does NOT negatively impact the baby but it is not recommended by Doctors. This scare alone on radiation has kept me from purchasing one.

I’m 11 weeks and the drs office couldn’t find a heartbeat with the Doppler... ultrasound showed baby somersaulting around and doing flips. I think it would make me more worried.

I felt the same way I’ll be 10 weeks tmrw but I didn’t buy the Doppler I didn’t wanna stress myself out more if I wasn’t able to find the heartbeat. Just try to remain positive until ur next dr appt 💕

I mean... maybe. It depends. I’m one of those stubborn people that absolutely will risk the mental distress of not finding the heart beat for the chance to actually find it. I couldn’t find it in the 8th week at all, went out of town and figured what the heck? And tried it again at 9 wk 3 d when I came back and found it. I’ve been able to find it everyday since. Sometimes it does take a little time. It really helps me, but again some women have trouble differentiating the different sounds and it does them no good so think about it.
