So happy to be 13 weeks today! However, it’s been a scary first trimester (and first pregnancy). Several times I have had brown spotting and so far everything has looked great, dating ultrasound at 7 weeks and a nuchal scan just one week ago showed healthy fetus. However the brown spotting turned red at the end of last week. I went to my doctor and she examined my cervix and it seemed ok but she said it was “friable”. That night I had more red (not heavy flow but good spotting) assumed

from the pelvic exam and have avoided lifting, sex etc. I have been constipated and straining a bit, trying to avoid straining a lot.

Today (so three days after appointment) more red spotting when I had a small bm. I can’t tell if it’s in my head but I feel like vagina is slightly sore - I am going to see my regular doctor tomorrow (last appointment was an NP) but am so scared of an exam again...

Has anyone had a friable cervix? Can this turn into something more serious? There isn’t much info online...
