Pregnant??Or Just freaking out??

Question

So I have an IUD and have not been able to check my strings recently but I'm pretty sure it's still in there. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and before we did I was bleeding lightly (I had had my IUD for about 11 days) and after we had sex I only had brown discharge for like four days and now I have nothing?? Is this normal for a new IUD or should I worry that I'm pregnant?

i’ve had my iud for about 2 years now and i bled nonstop (even brown discharge) for about the first month i had it. iud’s usually tend to stay in place so i don’t think you have anything to worry about :) and plus you basically just got yours so just give it time to adjust with your body.

I think it probably has more to do with the new iud hun! Idk which one you have but some of them take up to a year before your bleeding regulates. Im sure it’s in there and you’re protected. Maybe just use another form of protection as well until your more familiar with the way it works with your body :)
