INFERTILITY INSURANCE: what do you have?

Hi! My employer is open to discussing changing our insurance (or trying to) to help cover fertility treatments. Right now all our insurance covers is diagnostics. They’ve asked me to tell them what they should try to get in terms of insurance coverage. But I have no idea where to start.. So, what insurance do y’all have and what does it cover??
I want to say “cover everything” but I feel like that is not realistic 😂

I have BCBS HMO and they cover virtually everything. I have a $60 copay and have paid about $56 in meds for both ER and FET. But! I live in a state that has a fertility mandate requiring employers to cover treatments

I have bcbs horizon direct 15. 15$ copays, zero deductible (in network), 400 out of pocket max individual/800 family and I’m 100% covered until I’m 44. I’m allowed 4 egg retrievals and unlimited transfers of all the embryos created. They cover 1 year of cryno freezing. Pgs testing and cryno after 1 year are the only things we paid for.
We also have prescription with them too and my meds maybe came to 25$.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan PPO.  My husbands work has a contract with them.  They cover ivf and IUI.  I pay less than 60$ for all my meds per ivf cycle and I have a 15$ copay for ultrasound visits.

It really also depends what your employer opts for. Not all plans are created equal. I have Cigna open access just like someone on this feed and our coverage is much different. My husband and I are on a higher deductible plan because we typically do not need anything medical attention outside of preventative medicine which is also covered at 90-100% so we rarely need to pay our deductible and the doctor selection is much better. People with hmos pay a higher rate all the time but don’t need to pay a deductible. At my company, the math essentially comes out the same if you do the deductible plan and meet your deductible or use the hmo Plan. My husband works for one of the biggest companies in the world and we have excellent coverage. Unfortunately, due to his income, we have to contribute a lot more than the average Joe at his company towards our insurance.

I have Cigna open access plus and so far I've paid the clinics $950 coordination fee, $400 potentially refunded anesthesia if insurance covers it (which they should) about $300 for meds, nothing for u/s or bw, $50 copay if I have to see the doctor which has been twice since last April when we started with IUI. Overall very cheap considering. If you want pgs they don't cover it usually so that was going to be $3k. We declined because I am under 30 with no history of mc or genetic diseases

I have Anthem BCBS.  The fertility aspect states Dr appointments, lab work, diagnostic testing(HSG for example), and medication.  All those have my normal copay.  It does not cover IUI(unless Dr bills it as surgery) or IVF.

I am on a PPO plan. My insurance covers infertility at 90% once my $3k deductible is hit up to $20k.

I have 100% coverage with a 100k lifetime max for three rounds of IVF (the rounds reset after each live birth). I have Carefirst BCBS, I feel like there are a thousand plans and your HR specialist is just going to have to do their homework by calling insurance representatives to get quotes for the plans that have IVF coverage and breakdowns of what that coverage looks like. More important it sounds like would be a list of what is helpful for someone. For example-my procedures were still covered using donor sperm and some insurance uses that as a reason to deny coverage.

The bigger insurance companies will have a plan that covers fertility treatments, you just have to select the right plan. Basically you’ll need to call in or email to request information on each of their plans and what each plan covers. You could probably ask specifically about infertility/fertility coverage. My husband and I both have Blue Cora’s Blue Shield, but our employers chose plans that don’t cover fertility treatments (assholes) and we don’t live in a mandated state. You may be able to do some online searching too.

Ladies I wish I was as lucky as yall are. I live in Louisiana which is not a state that has mandatory fertility/infertility insurance. My husband works for Fedex Freight as a line haul driver and we have insurance through his work. It is with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. It doesnt hardly cover anything. HSG $1300 out of pocket, IUI $1250/cycle out of pocket, HCG TRIGGER SHOT $200/shot out of pocket. Cant keep up with everything that we paid. Currently exhausted all financial opportunities to try and move forward, so maybe after it's all paid off we can try again. Also looked into adoption as another option.
Just dont understand why it cost so much to try to concieve but it's the easiest option to abort (as in financially). Makes me so sick to my stomach to see people become pregnant easily and then want to abort that child.
I am 31 and my husband is 42. I have pcos but other than that nothing wrong. We are ttc our first child and this is one of the hardest things I have tried for. Been ttc for 7+ years. Fingers crossed that God will bless us with a child before we are too old.
