Does anyone use a dry erase marker on their washer?

I've seen on Pinterest where people use a dry erase marker to keep track of what needs to be hung up to dry. I finally got a dry erase marker and tried it out, but then this happened. I wrote it on there and wiped it off right away, just to make sure it worked. I had to use a cleaner and a scratch pad to get it off. It's a name brand dry erase marker, so it's not one of those cheapie ones. Has this worked for anyone?

**I already cleaned it off. I'm asking if anyone uses this hack and if it works for them. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
