Help BC Method??

I’m getting back on BC. I’ve had the shot before but last year it thinned out my walls and made it hard to have sex. So I got off. But now I have a lot of sex and he’s not ready for kids. So what’s your opinions on the arm implant or the depo shot. Lmk the pros and cons or your experience.

I had the arm implant & it turned me into a totally different person. I cried all the time and never wanted to leave the house. Gained 100 lbs in a year and became suicidal. It affects everyone differently though, you can’t really base your opinion off of others, you just have to try it. However I’d try the copper IUD over these two options

I have the implant, will be 3 years with it soon. No period, no weight gain and no change in acne. The only bad side effect I get is some mood swings but nothing major. It increased my sex drive too.

I had the nexplanon arm implant :) loved it- no period for three years, didn’t affect me getting pregnant, not moody, didn’t gain weight. Me on the pill complete opposite! Makes me depressed! You just don’t know hun, everyone’s body is different. Worse comes to worse it’s easy to take out and it’s gone. I haven’t heard good things about the shot x

I’ve had the implant for 4 years now (on my second implant), and overall it’s working well for me. I suffer from depression as well & the implant hasn’t affected it at all. The biggest con with progestin only methods like the implant (and depo) is irregular bleeding/spotting patterns. Which can include longer time frames with or without bleeding, random bleeding, or frequent bleeding, at any given time. In the 4 years that I’ve had the implant, I’ve had maybe 10-11 periods, with occasional brief spotting in between. It’s also possible to experience Pms/pregnancy-like symptoms even without bleeding or being pregnant (which is extremely unlikely anyway as the implant is 99.9% effective). I do occasionally get those type of symptoms as well, but they’ve been very manageable for me. I personally recommend giving the implant a try.
