Maternity photos... yes or no?

Question

This is my first pregnancy and I always said I’d want maternity photos done with my first. I have been looking forward to them the whole pregnancy until now, I’m having second thoughts. 
Firstly my partner doesn’t want them, makes annoying comments like “do I have to?”, etc, which makes me lose all motivation.
Also, I happen to have a few nice photos of my belly from my baby shower that I’d be happy to frame. 
Finally, feel really awkward and uncomfortable posing for photos... 
My partner and I have never had any professional shoots done so I thought it might be nice but honestly now I’m really doubting myself.
What are your thoughts ladies?
Edit: also feel like it could be a waste of money?? I honestly don’t know

Do it! You’ll be happy with your decision after it’s all said and done. My husband isn’t to keen on photos either but he sucks it up for me 😂 my son is now 2 and I absolutely love looking back at my maternity photos I absolutely love looking back and remembering that time and all the sweet moments. And happiness those photos bring me.

My husband and I aren’t really the most photogenic people and don’t care to have our picture taken. But I wanted something to remember my pregnancy. We did not hire a professional. My sister took some pics for us... too me they were good enough. Definitely not professional. But I didn’t have to worry about spending any money or posing for a stranger

Do it!!!! I didn’t really want to do them... because I was lazy but I didn’t want to regret it one day. Now looking back at the photos I’m so happy we did.

Yes do it!  It’s a memory of when you were carrying you baby!  I love ours!  We did them with this baby too.  I’m just including my favorite from our first baby.

I did maternity photos but I am also a big advocate on taking photos if you have the chance. I grew up in foster care and have no photos from my childhood at all. Photos are important to me because of this because they can carry on for memories and be passed on to your children and grandchildren. It’s a personal choice though as many also think they are cheesy and weird but I loved mine plus my photographer only charged us $75 dollars for an hour which was super doable. This could be my one and only pregnancy, I don’t know if I’ll be blessed with it again so even if I had to DIY it I wanted to have them 🤷🏼‍♀️

I never wanted them but changed my mind as I got more and more proud of what my body was accomplishing.  I wanted to document that.  So glad we did it.

I didn’t have them done with my first and I regret it. I don’t have any photos to show her from when I was pregnant with her. I did get them done this time so that my son will have those pictures to look back at. My SO is not a fan of taking pictures and didn’t want to do it either but I told him they were memories and his son should be able to look back at those pictures of his parents so he ultimately agreed and we couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out. There is nothing wrong with doing it versus not doing it I just personally wanted them knowing how not getting them with my daughter makes me feel looking back on it.

I did not have maternity picture done because I wanted newborns pictures when my little love got here! That just me! Maybe find a friend with a good quality camera? You do whatever will make you happy!! And as for your husband, tell him to get over it and smile if that’s what you want to do 😂 guys will be guys 🤷🏼‍♀️ my husband wouldn’t have taken wedding photos if he didn’t have to! lol

You can always do photos of just yourself and not involve your husband. I personally didn’t do them because I don’t know what I would actually do with the photos.

Do it! You’ll never be able to get this time back. My hubby has 2 baby pictures and that’s it— we take pictures of EVERYTHING now
