Gestational Diabetes
Have you ever heard of someone being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and then not actually having it? My 1 hour Glucose was elevated so we did a 3 hour. My last hour was elevated on the 3 hour so on that basis I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes after being told I didn’t have it. So of course I’ve been told to monitor my blood sugar first thing in the AM before eating and then 1 hour after every meal. It’s been perfect every time and I’m not dieting. I’m eating normal (for me) foods like pizza, fried chicken, ice cream for dessert, bread appetizers. How would my blood sugar stay between 80 and 105 after those kinds of meals if I had gestational diabetes? Has anyone else experienced this? Did your doctor insist you continue to monitor your blood sugar or did they let it go? Thank you all!
