HELP ME PLEASE

Me and my boyfriend had sex before and after ovulation this was two weeks ago so i thought i had a chance to get pregnant but today i started my period ... so now I’m worried I’m not pregnant i don’t know if i should take a test .. should i wait after the bleeding is over??

Or is it breakthrough bleeding ? Should i get a blood test ??

I took a test today and it came back negative i think it was because of my period but it’s been a month since i had my last one

I need help on what to do!!!??!!!
