Am I valid??

Question

So I am bi and I have a girlfriend even tho I do prefer boys, but of course as a bi person that attraction to women is still there 
But people in the LGBTQ community have been saying that since I have a preference for boys I am “technically straight” and that I am not part of the LGBTQ community 
Or they will say I am only valid if I have a girlfriend, if I have a boyfriend that somehow makes me not LGBTQ anymore
And idk I am relatively new to all of this so I have to ask, am I valid?

You are 1000% valid! Even if you had a boyfriend and we’re 99% attracted to boys and 1% attracted to girls (and/or nb, agender, etc.) you would still be a valid bisexual. All that is required is attraction to more than 1 gender, regardless of how strong that attraction is.
