Scared of damage

I am worried about my body after having an abortion. I had a medical abortion almost a year ago. I had major, severe cramps and I expelled the main thing but not any of the other fluid. I kept bleeding for weeks hoping my body would naturally get rid of all the excess. It didn’t. I had to have a D & C and I heard that the scraping can cause damage to your uterus. Will I ever be able to have children now? I still have periods, fertile mucous and regular discharge.
