12 year Gap and he comes from 17 year marriage!

We have been dating for a year next month, it’s been anything but easy for me. I’m 28 and he’s 40 and came from a 17 year marriage that he wasn’t ready to end. Not knowing that when we started seeing each other he was not even a year out of his split. Needless to say it’s been a journey of an extreme amount of understanding. The issue I am facing is we just moved in together (I have a 2year old) his daughter lives with her mother. His daughter comes over once a month for a weekend, but when she is there He does not want spending the night. I understand why, we have talked about it. However I am having an issue with understanding the situation vs emotions that the situation brings. I feel like I’m not good enough to be around his daughter, that I’m being left out. Have been together for a year I have also learned that he didn’t want the marriage to end, he is still in love with her I’m sure which I also understand. He is an amazing person who is beyond broken wasn’t quite the relationship I wanted after being single for 3 years. But here I am falling in love.
