In America, what do they let you take home after birth?

I don’t really have any postpartum healing stuff for myself yet like big pads, peri bottles, ice packs, nipple shields and pads and lotion, etc.
I hear they usually let you take a bunch of stuff home from the hospital. I live in Wisconsin and I will be going to a fairly large hospital. What can I expect to pocket on my way out?

The nurses at my hospital joke by saying whatever you can that isnt linen take. For post birth I got pads, mesh undies, ice packs for down there. Cooling/numbing spray, witchhazel pads, flushable wipes, doggy peed pad type pads, peri bottle. For baby diapers, lots because I keep stashing them in my bag, wipes, a few syringe bulbs, comb, brush and of course her hospital hat.

If it's in the room and useable they usually let you take it because if it's not used they throw it away after you leave. But my hospital has never supplies anything for breast. Pads undies peri bottle even the baby diapers and wipes in there

They give you a peri bottle. I took all the pads and mesh undies from the cupboard too

They gave me some pain relieving spray, witch hazel pads, tons of mesh undies and pads, some ice packs, nipple cream, and a sitz bath. No nipple shield but they might if you actually need it or you might get one from the lactation consultant but if you don’t need it it’s kind of a hassle. For baby they’ll give you diapers, wipes, a hat, maybe socks and a onesie, formula if you need it, and a pacifier if you decide to use them. I may have forgotten a couple things but you’ll probably at least get that stuff if not more.

Same as everyone else. The Nurse encouraged me to take whatever had been in the draws for my use wile there, which included bottles of formula, diapers, pads... and I believe she went and grabbed me an extra pair or two of the mesh underwear because I was out. They also gave us the hat he was wearing in the hospital, which I think is pretty normal.

It depends on the hospital. Mine is fairly medium sized and the nurse time is to take every thing that wasnt linen or bolted to the ground 😂
