New pregnancy or leftover HCG?

Hello everyone! My husband and I are ttc our first child. I got pregnant in September and ended up having a missed miscarriage at about 12.5 weeks. My body did not misscarry naturally so about a week after we found out, I had a D&C on November 16th. We were told to wait a couple cycles before trying again to let the uterine lining build back up. This was our first month trying since the miscarriage. I am 8 DPO (early I know but I’m a POAS addict and I got a faint positive at 8 dpo with the last pregnancy so I knew it was possible for me). Is there a chance that this could be leftover HCG from the last pregnancy? It’s been 10.5 weeks since the D&C. We would be over the moon if this was a new pregnancy but I’m scared to get too excited. I will test tomorrow morning to see if the line gets darker but just looking for a little insight before then. I appreciate any advice!

UPDATE: I took another test and it came back much darker! So definitely a new pregnancy! Thanks so much for the input everyone 💗
