Doctor Doesn’t Want To Induce!

Lauren

So here’s a back story type of thing...

with my first daughter I requested to be induced and my midwife said she’ll see what the hospital can do, because ultimately it’s up to them, if they have an open room, etc. The next day got a cal saying I could come in on Sunday (day after my due date) to be induced. I did it. Everything went perfect. 16 hours of labor and not much tearing. The only bad part was the fact my whole body ached afterwards lol!

Now, I’m pregnant with my 2nd daughter. We moved recently so I have a new Obygn and I love her. She’s so sweet and takes her time with anything and everything you have to say/ask.

Well my last appointment I asked her what she thinks about scheduled induction and also mentioned what about if the baby is on the large side (I’m only 5’1” and 100 lbs so I’m little as it is) & she said she doesn’t like it. She said it increases risk for c sections. Which while that may be true, my body handled the induction with my first VERY well. AND YES!! I know every baby & pregnancy is different!!

But I didn’t mention this because it completely slipped my mind, but my husband and I live 10 hours away from family, because he’s military and that’s just how stuff goes lol

We know absolutely NOBODY around here to watch our daughter, and our friends who are also military, all work.

So if I were to go into labor naturally, we can’t wait 10 hours for his mom to drive up here to head to the hospital.

But with being induced, I’ll know a day, a time, and she can drive up here the day before or something. She did that when we had our first just to watch our pets.

My husband says ultimately it’s my decision, which I agree. I just don’t want to piss off my doctor by coming in and being like “so I need to be induced. For sure. I have no other option”

What do you ladies think??!
