So I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and have had two job offers fall through due to my pregnancy. I was initially offered a job to work as a Registered Nurse in a Sleep Apnea clinic and once I had accepted the offer, I disclosed my pregnancy right away. (I was only 13 weeks at the time). The company proceeded to tell me that they could not accommodate the pregnancy and they had to retract the offer of employment.

Yesterday (at 21 weeks along and visibly showing) I interviewed for a job to work as an Office Coordinator. I initially applied to this at 13 weeks pregnant but they only called me 2 weeks ago for an interview. Today they called and offered me the job and once again, I brought up my pregnancy (I honestly thought they knew!! I mean I am big already!) and they then told me they could no longer offer me the position and needed to speak with their board members to determine if I was still eligible for the position since my pregnancy was a “big issue” for them.

I am so sick and tired of people making me feel like I am doing something wrong by applying to jobs while pregnant!!! 😭

Moral of the story, do not disclose your pregnancies until you are working at your new job!! I tried to be honest and do the right thing and I got screwed over twice now. People have all sorts of different opinions when it comes to this, but as a individual you need to look out for yourself and your family! Employers do not hesitate to screw you over, so look out for yourself ladies!!
