Baby's born!

Autumn • 25, Boy Mom 💙

I had hypertension so I was tracking my BP and watching for symptoms, on the 3rd, I went in because my BP was high and I had symptoms of preeclampsia. They tested a bunch of things and then decided to induce me. They put me on fluids and magnesium, so I couldn't get out of bed. They gave me cytotec 4 times over the next couple days and it didn't do anything, so they put the folly bulb in. It dilated me to about 3-4 but I still wasn't having contractions, so Saturday afternoon, they started pitocin and broke my water. I wanted the epidural after the first few contractions, but the nurse told me I should probably wait. Then his HR would go down with every contraction, so I had to keep switching positions until his HR was stable before they gave me the epi. Finally, they started pumping me full of fluids for the epi, I saw my hand swelling up with the fluids, but I didn't want to tell them or it might take longer to get the epi. When anesthesia finally came (they were in a C-section), they were too late because I was ready to push, and they found out that my IV blew a vein. So while I was pushing, I had people poking me everywhere trying to find a vein because I needed to be on the magnesium. I BARELY felt any pain from pushing, only the contractions. I pushed him out in 2 pushes. He didn't even cry, but when he was on my chest, they checked his lungs and he was fine. They brought in a guy to find a vein and it took him 4 hours and a VERY tiny needle to find a vein after he was born. Daniel was born 1/5/2019 at 10:50 PM, he was 5 lbs 10 oz, 18 inches long.
