Heavy AF

So I had the mirena iud in for 9.5 years total. I had it removed Dec 14th and had my first period on January 2-7 and on the second day had a very very heavy flow. Then it was pretty much regular after that. I never had a flow like this before the iud and I had occasional periods here and there while on the iud. Just got my period again last night and today I have been changing my tampon every 1.5 - 2 hours and have ruined 2 pairs of panties sorry for the tmi. But I have seriously never seen this much blood during a period before. Did anyone else experience this ....is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal?
