Did epidural leave you with terrible back pains?

After I gave birth I have major back pains along with a lot of sciatic and pelvic pains. Everyone keeps putting it off to the epidural? What are your experiences with it

I’d guess it’s more misalignment from being pregnant. Have you seen a chiropractor?

I’ve had sciatic nerve pain prior to pregnancy and it wasn’t that bad afterwards. Actually all of my issues went away after giving birth. The only thing I was really in pain from was my nurse who taught my husband how to use his fist to apply pressure to my spine to block off the pain which by the way didn’t help much. Just left me super sore from it. So I don’t recommend that. But I don’t think the epidural affected me one bit.

All doctors will tell you this. BEING PREGNANT MESSES UP YOUR BACK NOT EPIDURAL LOVE. My doctor explained it all to me. My back kills me from how heavy my belly was.

Yes but worse with my first. My labor was a lot longer with my first (second I was induced) so I think the labor itself coupled with an epidural caused me more back pain. I couldn’t stand up straight for like three weeks so I’d say yes but other factors also effects back pain post partum

I don’t think it’s the epidural probably the pregnancy, I also had back pain after having baby I saw a chiropractor he did adjustment s for 3 months nothing really helped saw a orthopedic dr he said my back was fine n sent me too physical therapist. Physical therapist said I have no core cause u lose ur core when u become pregnant n taught me some easy exercises i can do every day. I would see physical therapist if I were you they will teach u exercises u can do everyday, chiropractor will tell u some thing s wrong w ur back n tell u have to come twice a week for 3 months n it’s not cheap.

I only had pain about day 4. I was home from the hospital and decided to take my baby for a walk down the block. It was not comfortable, but I’m not sure that it was from the epidural, I was doing too much too soon.

For a couple of days once I got home my back would get shooting pains on occasion but stopped before a week pp.

Never gave my any back trouble but did cause my sons heart rate to drop and I had to have an emergency c section.

The fist baby yes. Couldn’t wash dishes for so long cause my upper back would hurt, so I had to lay down for 5 min and it would go away. It all went away with my second child... yeiii me!!!! Back pain free...
