Blocking a debit card?

If I block my debit card will this
Stop companies from taking money out of my account? If they do not have my bank info but they do have my card info??

You can cancel the card and get a new one sent but idk if the bank updates certain places of your info change. Like fabletics I heard can get new card info, but some places don’t. So maybe call the bank and tell them your situation and see what they suggest.

Banks can’t block companies from taking money from your card unless it’s legitimate fraud.  If you have tried to reach out to these companies and they keep taking money you can either fill out dispute paperwork with the bank to seek a refund or you will have to close the card permanently and open a new one...if you close it and you have legitimate payments or credits coming in or out you will need to notify those companies and reset up your card with them.  I work for a bank and these are the procedures we go by.  It’s best to call your bank though because they may do things a little different.

Yes if you report lost and get a new one they will not be able to bill it has happened to me on accident where I got a new card and forgot to put my new info so they were not able to bill

Yes but you have to tell your bank to do a stop payment but it has to be legitimate. Can’t be because you just don’t want to pay them anymore.

If I have something automatically taken from my account and I don’t want it to do that I have to call the company taking the money out.

You’d have to call the bank and have them put a hold on the card. This will stop any transactions from occurring on it.
