Yeah that is racist. So when i was younger (like 7 years old) grandma on my biological father side asked me, "you wont marry a black guy right?". I still remember and tbh we dont have a close relationship because of the things she use to ask and fell me that i never understood till i got older.

Yea. Super racist. My grandfather was THAT person... until he met my daughter. She climbed up into his lap the first time she met him and actually changed his heart. I never thought that was something he would change. He loved her to pieces and was so proud.
My thing is this, if you have to say “BUT I’m not racist” chances are you really are or just said something racist.

My family got upset when I start dating a mixed girl. They were mostly upset I was gay but her being mixed added to it. Let’s just say I walked out at 17 and haven’t spoken to them in three years. Fucking ass holes.

It depends on the intent behind those words. Some parents say it because they want their child to be able to relate to their partner culturally and maybe it’ll make it easier for the two families to merge if they end up getting married. Other times it’s racist and that’s when it’s wrong.

My mom got mad at me years ago because I had started talking to a black boy lol I was about 14 and I straight up told her that I was going to talk to him anyways and that it was ridiculous to tell me that I couldnt talk to him, when she gave the okay a while back to date a different boy who was white. I called her out for it and she left it alone after that 🤷🏼‍♀️ we didnt work out anyways. We were obviously young but never due to any race issues.

How dare my kids date outside their race.... without warning me of their favorite foods so I can make sure that they have a big meal when they come meet me.
For real I'd you bring anyone (friend or SO) without letting me know what I can cook them there will be serious consequences
