Birthday Party?

Question

Is it terrible of me to not want to throw a birthday party for my daughter turning 3? Last year was rough. She was sick the entire week leading up to her party then went to a cousins birthday (they are 10 days apart) and got even more sick. So it was like weeks of sickness and misery. We’re currently going on week 3 of congestion and cough. I just don’t want her to get sick again and not enjoy her party or get sick at the party from other kids. It’s rough having a winter birthday!

I did a giant bday party for his first, last year I did two parties (friends one day, family the next day) and realized wth is wrong with me lol. This year I was 36 weeks pregnant on his bday. Called 4 friends and their kids over, ordered pizza and the cake and picked up a salad from the store. A few decorations I had in the basement and it was done. All he wants to know now a month later is what happened to his construction cake (have to remind him he ate it). He was just happy having a party, he doesn't care how big it was.

We are just doing a small family dinner at a restaurant. No work for us just a fun get together. I won’t do a “party” party until kindergarten most likely. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We aren’t doing anything big this year either. There’s so many illnesses going around and we just got rid of a stomach bug. We’ll do stuff with grandparents this weekend (his birthday is tomorrow) but on the actual bday, it’s cake, presents 🎁 and FaceTime with out of state family. 
I’ll say this: I’m also a February bday and I don’t believe I had real parties until like 5 or 6, probably because of weather and illnesses. Hasn’t made a difference for me!!

I always said we would do a family water park getaway for my son’s winter birthday instead of a party. However, being prego with baby 2 this year I thought it was best to avoid the water park. I gave in to doing a party , which seemed to be reasonable in price . Well, didn’t expect every person we invited to actually come, so we are now paying double what we planned. We could have flown down to Florida for a weekend for the same price as a 2 hr bday party.  If you didn’t plan a party yet, I would say DONT DO IT! We will always do a family getaway from now on .

We are going to a “pasta restaurant” with families only for my first 3rd birthday this year.  At this age they don’t really demand birthday party I feel like, it’s better to take care of self and stay low key as you prepare for the little one to arrive :)

My girl is turning 3 next saturday and I also don't want to throw a party, I am just not a party person but she wants one.... also is gonna be cold and raining and I don't want a bunch of kids running in the whole house making a mess! I also have a 3 month old and I'm already tired just to think about it!

We did a big first birthday party and the last one was just immediate family and grandparents. This year will be the same
