My good friend is a labor lawyer and she said absolutely never tell a new job about a pregnancy until you're hired. Even then, she suggested waiting as long as possible!

Even though they aren’t supposed to discriminate, if they have the information, it could still influence their decision. They just wouldn’t tell you if that is the reason.

I had a job interview when I was around 7/8 weeks pregnant offered the position. I started yesterday. I’m now 12weeks even though I have known my co-workers and Rehab Manager for years (the Physical/occupational therapy world is small) I am waiting to tell them when we announce in a couple more weeks.

I just got hired for a new job. I didn’t tell them I’m pregnant during the interviews but I did tell them once they offered me the job. I wanted to make sure they could accommodate my 6-8 weeks off as well as I didn’t want it to be a “bait and switch” since I’m going into my 2nd trimester this week. I wanted to be open and honest in hopes that will benefit me.

It depends if the job description is something you would be able to do while pregnant or would you need restrictions that limit what work you can do there.

I would tell them at the interview. I had an experience that I waited until a couple of weeks but my baby didn't make it. The job was to strenuous and I miscarried my first day working.  Lesson learned.
