Possible incision hernia
So ever since I had my one tube removed from an ectopic pregnancy In October of 2016 I’ve had intermittent pain near the one incision site usually only when I cough. I put it off forever thinking it was ovarian cyst that kept coming back in that same area. About 8-9 months ago I decided to finally have it checked out and they said that they didn’t see anything wrong inside near my ovaries that would cause the pain and said it might be pain from my scar since they didn’t see a cyst when they did the vaginal ultrasound. The pain usually happens when I cough but not every time I cough and sometimes it stays for a few minutes and sometimes it only hurts during the cough.
Well it’s been more frequent lately now that I’m 4 almost 5 months pregnant and I mentioned it to my ob. She says she thinks it’s a hernia related to the surgery I had. Which makes sense as this started after the surgery and the cysts never hurt when I coughed before. I go to see a general surgeon about it on Wednesday. I’m worried this might make me more susceptible to preterm delivery or they might try and tell me I have to go on light duty at work. I’m a Cna and I often have to lift patients throughout the day and I’m agency so I’m not going to be able to get hours at nursing homes if I’m on light duty because they’ll just pick other agency aides.
Anyone ever have to have surgery to repair a hernia during pregnancy? Or have a hernia during pregnancy? Can you tell me what your experience was like and what happened?
