What’s your guys’s approach at discipline?

I’m pregnant w my first baby and someone asked me what my approach will be at discipline and I realized I have no idea😂

Lmao I realized this at about 15 months when we hit the terrible twos early 😂😂😂 there’s no one size fits all. Just equip yourself with knowledge of their development and how to handle struggles through their development. Anything before 18 months is really just making sure they don’t harm themselves as they don’t know the difference between right and wrong. I’ve read the whole Brain child and no drama discipline and those have helped me know how to understand better. I know there Are a lot more good resources out there. My sons 2 and we do time outs, toy take always, and counting. I found that asking if he’s going to make a good choice or if he is making a good choice makes him stop and think more than just threatening a time out lol. You’ll learn as you go. We’re all clueless 😂

We do not do counting bc it teaches children delayed obedience; we teach our children to have quick, joyful obedience and to honor God by listening to mom and dad right away. :) The Bible is our parenting guide. 💕

I second her book recommendations! Learn as much as you can about how the brain develops, and it will arm you with tools and patience so you don’t cause harm to your child with well meaning discipline.
