Cervidil Induction Update

Allyson

So the cervidil did it’s job of softening my cervix and opening up. I was closed Monday night and on Tuesday morning I was 1 cm. They started pitocin around 6:30 and I got my epidural around 8:45 which I’m glad I did because they were super busy and I went from a 1 to a 4 pretty quickly. Then I jumped from a 4 to a 6 in twenty minutes. Then everything went super scary super fast. Dallas’ HR went from a 140 to 60 and my nurse had to call my doctor. By the time he got there (15 minutes after she checked me and saw that I was a six) I was at a 9 and they had to put one of those thing’s on her head to monitor her heart rate. They said she had just gone into shock from my body changing so quick so fast. Eventually her heart rate went back to normal so I was calmer. They had also stopped the pitocin when her heart rate dropped so I stayed a 9 from 1:45 to about 5:30ish. I was finally a 10 and it was time to push and I went in super confident and was like, 3 pushes and I’ll have her out. I pushed for an hour and a half and didn’t feel like I made any progress so I got super emotional and thought I was going to have to have a c section. I had to regroup and think positive so I started focusing again and got back to pushing. My nurse updated my doctor and he came in and said that if I didn’t have her by 7:30 they were going to have to get the vacuum to get her out. She was born at 7:22 so I basically pushed for two and a half hours. Literally so exhausting but I’m so glad I didn’t have to have a c section. And I’m glad my little peanut is safe and healthy! ❤️❤️❤️
