Boyfriend in delivery room?

Do you ladies think I should let my boyfriend( or ex idk what’s going on at this point) be in the delivery room when I give birth when he hasn’t been there for me through out my pregnancy?? And should I give the baby his last name? It’s our first child and it’s a boy I’m Due in May.

No and no. If you're not together and he hasn't shown any interest in the pregnancy there is no reason for you to have him there or give the child his last name.

I don’t think he should be in the delivery room if he hasn’t been there for you throughout your pregnancy BUT if he’s willing to work things out with you and you do want him In babies life maybe you should? But it’s up to you ... now last names  can be controversial for many people but I always say (with all respect) your baby is not a bastard! You know who the father is give the child his name ... that’s just me though!

No on the last name! It's *your* baby and he hasn't been there for you. Delivery room is your call--he may have a legal right to see the baby but he has no legal right to be at the birth. You need a calm and supportive environment and it doesn't sound like he'll provide that.

What about just letting him be in the waiting room then shortly after baby comes he can see the baby with someone else around incase something is said or done as a witness.

Honestly, it’s all up to you. It’s his baby as well. But, if he hasn’t shown that he cares about your pregnancy/baby, then I wouldn’t. If it’s just problems between you two, then don’t bring the baby into it. But like I said, if he shows no interest in y’alls baby.. I would just let him visit after.

I’m all about being comfortable when giving birth and the less stress the better. With that being said do you think he’ll stress you out during delivery? He doesn’t have to be in the room with you he can wait outside in the lobby if he really wants to be there for the baby.

If you plan on not having a future with the boyfriend I’d give it your last name. You’re the one who carried the baby and will care for it why should he take credit? Especially since he wasn’t there for you. And as far as having him in the room do what makes you comfortable. If he will stress you out tell him he can visit after birth. This is about delivering a healthy baby. The last thing you need is tension in the room.
